How to add a Single Listing - (step-by-step guide)

Adding a Single Listing – Full Guide

Creating a product listing using the single listing functionality on the Makro Seller Portal involves several key steps. This guide combines the processes of finding the correct vertical, inputting your product information, and understanding the QC status, so you can successfully list your products.

Part 1: Finding Your Vertical and Inputting Your Brand

1

Step 1: Navigate to Add New Listings

  1. Log in to the Seller Portal and go to Listings > Add New Listings.

  2. Click on the blue button labelled "Add New Listings".

  3. From the options, select "Add Single Listing".

2

Step 2: Find the Right Vertical

Now, you need to find the correct vertical for your product. You have two options to do this:

Search

Search: Use the search bar to type in keywords related to your product category.

Left-Hand Navigation

Left-Hand Navigation: Browse through categories and subcategories to find the right vertical.

Important: If you cannot find a suitable vertical for your product, refer to the guide for requesting a new vertical: Vertical Requests.

3

Step 3: Select the Brand

Once you've found the correct vertical, select it, then click on the "Select Brand" button.

4

Step 4: Input Your Brand Name

Enter your brand name exactly as you want it to appear on the marketplace.

The brand name is used in both your product title and catalogue, so it is essential to be accurate. If you do not have a brand, you can input "Non Branded". After entering your brand name, click "Check Brand" to confirm.

5

Step 5: Create Your New Listing

Once your brand is checked, click "Create New Listing" to proceed to the next step of inputting detailed product and listing information.

Part 2: Inputting Your Product Information

1

Step 1: Add Product Photos

Click "Edit" next to the "Product Photos" section to upload your high-quality product images.

Best Practices for Product Images:

  • High Quality: Ensure your images are clear, crisp, and visually appealing.

  • Primary Image: Feature only the product in the primary image, with no props or distractions.

  • Additional Images: Include lifestyle photos or other angles of the product.

  • Plain White Background: Required for most categories.

  • Minimum Size: The recommended size is 300 x 300 pixels or higher.

  • File Format: Acceptable formats are .jpg and .png.

2

Step 2: Input Price, Stock, and Shipping Information

Click "Edit" next to "Price, Stock and Shipping Information" and enter the details of your offer:

Price: Your selling price must be equal to or lower than the base price (Recommended Retail Price).

Pick Pack SLA: This refers to the time it takes to prepare your product for shipment.

SKU ID: Must be unique and used only once per seller.

Package Details

Accurate package details ensure correct courier allocation and affect courier fees.

Enter the product's shipping dimensions and weight accurately. These details must represent the product in its packaged shipping state, ready to be collected and delivered.

The package dimensions and weight directly impact the transport fees charged. Check the transport fee information available in the Help Centre for more information on the transport fees.

Remember to click "Save" to store your progress.

3

Step 3: Product Description and Attributes

  • Click "Edit" next to "Product Description" to complete mandatory attributes.

  • Attributes: Some fields require free text, others a selection from a dropdown menu.

  • Accuracy: Attributes are used to form your product title, so be accurate.

  • Click "Save" after completing this section.

How Your Product Title Is Created

Titles are automatically generated based on the product attribute information you enter. The fields highlighted in green make up the product title.

Tip: Click "Save" and review the preview of your title before submitting the product. You can still return to the attributes and make edits before sending the listing to QC.

Click "Save" once you're done.

5

Step 5: Submit for Quality Check

Click the "Send to QC" button to submit your product for Quality Check.

QC Process: Takes up to 3 business days, and feedback will be provided once the review is complete.

Part 3: QC Status & Understanding Rejection Reasons

Checking the Status of Your Submission

To check your listing status, navigate to Listings > Add New Listings. Possible statuses include:

Draft: Your listing hasn't been submitted.

QC In Progress: The listing is under review.

QC Passed: Your listing has passed QC and will appear in "My Listings".

Listing Creation Error: There is an issue with "Price, Stock, and Shipping Information".

QC Failed - Critical: There is a critical issue with your submission.

Listing Creation Error

If you see a "Listing Creation Error", follow these steps:

  1. Click "Fix Errors" to return to the product creation page.

  2. Resolve the error message explaining which field(s) need attention.

  3. A common error is the "SKU Not Allowed to Be Updated" issue, often related to product variants.

QC Failed - Critical

If QC fails, it’s because of an issue with your product information. Click "Fix Errors" to view the error message and fix the issue. Common critical errors include:

Brand Mismatch

Brand Mismatch: The brand name in the product photos doesn’t match the brand entered during listing creation.

Brand Abuse

Brand Abuse: Inconsistencies in the brand name (e.g., "Brand A" in the title but "Brand B" in the description).

Sales Package

Sales Package: The sales package field should describe the contents accurately, but refrain from using brand names.

Fix the issues, then resubmit your listing for QC.
