Where do I find the fee calculator? |
Fee Calculator Link |
Do we need to pay Makro directly? |
No, the fee will be deducted from your payout, just like the commission fee. |
Are the fees excluding VAT? |
Yes, they are. |
What happens if my products are not affordable to sell with these transport fees? |
Use the fee calculator to check your margins in a scenario where you bundle the product and sell it as a "pack of". This helps reduce the fee per unit when sold as a pack. If bundling doesn't make sense and you're not making a profit, it may not be viable to list the product. Review the article on "creating a pack of" listing for guidance. |
Doesn't the customer pay for the delivery? |
Customers only pay for orders below R500. Most of Makro's orders are over R500, so you as a seller will only see your item order, not the full customer order value. Even when customers pay the fee for orders under R500, it doesn't always cover courier costs. Makro is still subsidizing total courier costs despite the new transport fees. |
Do I get charged for Returns too? |
Yes, returns are also charged per unit. |
When does it start? |
The charges will start from 24th February. |
Do Failed Deliveries get charged? |
No, if the charge will only apply for a successfully delivered order. |
Does the Min Order Quantity affect the transport fee? |
No, the transport fee is applied per unit. If a customer orders 3 units, the fee applies per unit. If a listing is created as a pack of 4, then the pack is considered 1 unit. |
What dimensions are used for the shipping fee? |
The transport fee is based on the dimnensions used in the Listing Information under "package details" section. Note: this is the dimensions of the product in its shipping state. |
What happens if I put in the wrong dimensions? |
This can impact the order and can lead to cancellations as these dimensions are used to allocate the order to the correct courier, it is operationally essential that these are accurate. You are responsible for ensuring these are accurate. |
