Information on Transport Fees

Information on Transport Fees

Effective from 24 February 2025, Makro Marketplace will be introducing a new Seller Fulfilment and Return Fee aimed at streamlining delivery services and aligning with industry standards. This fee will be applied to each order unit that is fulfilled and each unit that is returned. The changes reflect the costs associated with fulfilling and returning products, ensuring the system remains fair and efficient for both sellers and customers.

What Do These Fees Mean for You?

The new fee structure is calculated based on two key factors: the cubic dimensions and the physical weight of your products. This means the fees will vary depending on the size and weight of the items being shipped, with larger and heavier products incurring higher fees. Below is a detailed rate card to help you better understand the breakdown of the new fees.

Action Required: Reviewing Your Product Margins

To maintain profitability, it is important that you review your product margins in light of these new fees. With these transport fees based on size and weight, you may find it necessary to adjust your pricing strategy. One effective way to ensure sustainability is by selling in packs rather than individual units. This adjustment could help optimize the unit economics and allow you to absorb the additional transport costs more efficiently.
