Product titles on the marketplace are created using a combination of attributes and hardcoded text, which varies depending on the product category. The goal is to generate consistent and descriptive titles that accurately represent the product and help customers easily find what they are looking for.
Titles are typically formed by concatenating multiple product attributes and fixed text values. The structure and complexity of the title depend on the category of the product. Below is a breakdown of how titles are structured and some examples for clarity.
For products like air fryers, the title is formed by combining several key attributes with hardcoded text.
Brand Name + Model Number (Air Fryer) + Pan Capacity
Here, the title includes the brand name and model number, followed by the category description ("Air Fryer") as hardcoded text, and finally, the pan capacity (an attribute).
For more complex products like fans, the title includes additional attributes and features, resulting in a more detailed and structured format.
Brand Name + Model Number + Energy Efficiency Rating + Blade Sweep + Feature + Number of Blades (Blade) + Type + Brand Colour + Pack Quantity
In this case, more attributes are included, with less room for free text. The attributes are concatenated in a specific order, and hardcoded text is used for consistency across similar product types.
When using the Single Listing method, once you’ve captured all the mandatory attributes and uploaded at least one product image, a preview of your product title will appear. The attributes that make up the title will be highlighted in green, helping you confirm that your title displays correctly before you publish the listing.
