How the Waybill is Generated

When you receive an order, it is your responsibility to select the order and click the "Process Label" button. This action triggers the system to generate the waybill.

The waybill is essential for the shipping process. It includes the shipping information and serves as the reference used by the courier for collection and delivery. The waybill is printed and affixed to the parcel, allowing the courier to easily track the order during transportation.


How the Waybill is Assigned to a Courier

The waybill is generated via a third-party tool, which determines which courier is best suited for the shipment based on specific factors such as:

  • Item Dimensions: Heavy or bulky items may be assigned to Value Express, while smaller items will be allocated to other couriers.

Once the waybill is generated and printed, the order status moves from Pending Label to Pending Handover, meaning the order is now awaiting collection by the courier.


What Happens If the Waybill Is Not Generated?

In some cases, the third-party tool may take a little longer to generate the waybill. When this happens, the order status will change to "Waiting for Waybill".

If you see this status, please allow up to 6 hours for the system to generate the waybill. In most cases, the system will automatically complete the process during this time.


What to Do If the Waybill Is Still Not Generated

If the waybill is not generated after waiting for 6 hours, follow these steps:

  1. Check the Status: Verify that the order is still in the "Waiting for Waybill" status.
  2. Contact Support: If the waybill has not been generated, you will need to contact Makro for manual intervention. Please reach out to our team at marketplace.outbound@massmart.co.za for assistance.
